Eine Standardsituation in Science-Fiction Filmen und Büchern: Man setzt als erster Mensch einen Fuß auf einen weit entfernten Planeten. Es ist stockdunkel und windig, und die mitgebrachte Lampe viel zu schwach um mehr als kleine Ausschnitte zu erhellen. Man kann daher nie sicher sein, ob es sich bei dem was man flüchtig zu Gesicht bekommt, um eine Pflanze oder ein Tier handelt, ob das Tier Pflanzen- oder Fleischfresser ist.
Leser, sei gewarnt: Fotos wie aus einem Alptraum

So, you can only catch glimpses of the surroundings, and can’t ever be sure whether you’re seeing a plant or an animal, won’t know until it’s too late whether it is herbivore, carnivore or omnivore, etc.
